Hand-N-Hand New Media Fellowship aims to provide the new model for internship / mentorship with a dedicated purpose and a specific focus, “Youth oriented peer-to-peer mentoring and education.” The program will be fully adaptable and customizable to meet the immediate and the long-range goals of its participants, thus galvanizing the process of, “building new innovative thinkers as well as creating a self-perpetuating means of empowerment.”

OUR ORGANIZATIONAL OUTLOOK

As “The New Media Internship/Mentorship Education Collaboration with small footprints throughout Northern California (Sacramento & SF Bay Area), Hand-N-Hand New Media Fellowship builds strategic partnerships and alliances within the community to help schools/centers of higher learning and community based organizations develop engaging new media arts & technology after school programs: (music and video production/editing, graphic design, web design, digital music & video production, encoding and distribution, digital photography, visual arts, and entertainment event planning/production, creative writing for TV/Film/Print Media - general computer operations and office technology training).

With a focus on workforce development, work experience and young entrepreneurship training programs, Hand-N-Hand NMF has successfully implemented Jumpstart To Work programs in Teen Centers as well as a “Young CEO Academy” in various high schools, community schools and teen & community centers (West Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, and Loomis, CA).

Its soon to be implemented paid work experience and internship programs in partnership with The Department of Employment and Social Services will allow the organization to better serve the social-economic needs of the low-income youth in our communities.

Also, its financial literacy network and training efforts will empower kids, youth/young adults and adults to take control of their personal & educational financial planning, and business affairs to prepare each individual for a better more secure future.

We are excited to take a leading role as a corporate bridge partner in the on-going funding initiative for sustained program development and implementation that this organization brings to the youth in our communities.
